Netflix is amplifying its mobile and gaming initiatives, as highlighted during the company’s recent APAC Product Innovation Showcase.
At this event, Netflix announced plans to broaden its revamped mobile experience across additional markets in the Asia-Pacific region while simultaneously expanding its gaming offerings through the rollout of Netflix Playground, a dedicated platform for children’s gaming.
Following the successful launch of its redesigned mobile app in Australia, New Zealand, the Philippines, India, and Malaysia earlier this year, Netflix is set to introduce this enhanced experience in South Korea and Japan in July, with further markets in the Asia-Pacific region on the horizon.
A significant aspect of this redesign is “Clips,” Netflix’s response to the rising trend of short-form video content. This vertical video feed enables users to explore bite-sized clips from Netflix’s extensive library, providing quick entertainment options for those unable to commit to a full episode or film.
Netflix is taking this concept further by introducing themed Clip collections, which will curate short videos organized by specific moods, genres, and interests. These collections are expected to include memorable moments from reality TV, behind-the-scenes footage, and highlights from podcasts.

In addition to its streaming services, Netflix is making notable investments in gaming. The company is expanding Netflix Playground, its gaming hub tailored specifically for children. The latest feature will include “KPop Demon Hunters,” a popular animated musical that has quickly gained recognition as one of Netflix’s leading family titles.
This new experience will debut with six mini-games, allowing young fans to interact directly with characters and storylines from the film. This move comes as “KPop Demon Hunters” achieved over 518 million views within its first six months, marking it as one of Netflix’s most successful animated offerings. The company aims to capitalize on this viewer interest while providing additional incentives for families to engage with its platform.
Netflix Playground was initially launched in April across several markets, including the U.S., Canada, and the U.K., indicating the company’s commitment to scaling this concept globally.
